Emergencies

Emergency Services

The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit at the U.S. Embassy Riyadh can assist when U.S. citizens in the Saudi Arabia are arrested, are missing, are victims of violent crime, become ill, die, or where there is otherwise a need for immediate help.  One of our most important roles is to keep family members in the United States apprised of the circumstances, so that they can make necessary decisions about their loved ones and provide financial support.

For emergencies during regular office hours (8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday-Wednesday) please call 1-488-3800 x4664/x4315/x4591.

A duty  officer is always available outside normal office hours to assist American citizens who have serious emergencies.  The duty officer can be reached by calling 1-488-3800 x4210.  Please note that we can only replace lost and stolen passports during normal office hours.

The U.S. Consulate General Dhahran provides services to American Citizens in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and the U.S. Consulate General Jeddah serves the Western Province.

The emergency number for the Saudi police, rescue, and fire department is 999.
