Registration for Americans

The U.S. Embassy has no greater responsibility than the welfare and protection of U.S. Citizens living in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, we encourage you to register with the nearest consular office at the Embassy in Riyadh or the consulates in Jeddah or Dhahran. Registration will make your presence and whereabouts known in case it is necessary to contact you in an emergency and enable you to receive up-to-date information on security conditions.

- The State Department recently launched a secure online travel registration website which will allow you, as an American citizen, to record foreign trip and residence information that the Department of State can use to communicate with you and assist you in case of an emergency.

- U.S. citizens around the world who travel or reside abroad can access this site either through a link to http://travel.state.gov/ or directly at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs. We invite you to register yourself and your family and get acquainted with travel registration. If you are already registered with the Embassy in Riyadh or the Consulates in Jeddah or Dhahran, please re-register on line to update your records.

- The new Internet travel registration service for American citizens allows you to register and update your contact information on the Internet at any time, making it easier for you to keep your information current. The site also provides you with up-to-date travel information customized to your unique travel agenda and itinerary.  The data you provide is secured behind Department of State firewalls, accessed only by cleared personnel in Embassies, Consulates, and the Department of State, and releasable only under the provisions of the Privacy Act.

American citizens registered in Saudi Arabia will be notified of Embassy Warden Messages through their Wardens or by subscribing directly to the Embassy’s Warden Message KSA Email list from this website.

American citizens who do not have access to the Internet can register their presence directly with the American Embassy in Riyadh or the American Consulates in Jeddah or Dhahran.

All registrations received at the Embassy or Consulates in Jeddah or Dhahran must include a clear copy of the U.S. passport photo and data page to be considered valid.  Forms and passport copies can be submitted to the Embassy’s Consular Section from 1:30-3:30 p.m., Saturday through Wednesday, or faxed at any time to 01-483-0773.
