Exchange Programs  

Fulbright Student Program 

The Fulbright Student Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State through the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Saudi Arabia. It is a scholarship for postgraduate study in the United States that offers Saudi students an opportunity to build leadership skills and exchange cultural understanding with the American people.

Scholarships are open to resident Saudi citizens who meet the following eligibility requirements: 
 

  • wish to pursue graduate study at the master's degree level;
  • hold a minimum of a BA/BS degree or equivalent with accumulative GPA of very good;
  • are proficient in English with a recent TOEFL score of minimum 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), 80 (Internet-based) or higher, a GRE score and a GMAT score (for business subjects only);
  • must not have dual U.S. citizenship.

Applicants must provide the following:

  • proposed field of study (Medical courses are excluded);
  • future plans;
  • educational background;
  • work experience;
  • language skills;
  • study/research objectives;
  • personal history;
  • 3 letters of reference from teachers or supervisors;
  • certified true copies of official academic diplomas/transcripts (if not in English, they should be translated);
  • 1 recent passport size photo;
  • proof of required TOEFL/GRE/GMAT tests.

Where? Fulbright Scholarship recipients will study at a university in the United States for up to two years. Applicants may indicate at which universities they would like to study. These placements, however, will be explored but cannot be assured.

Special Notes

  • TOEFL/GRE/GMAT Testing: Applicants must submit proof of these test scores at the time of application.
  • The program does not fund accompanying relatives or dependents.
