Fulbright Scholar Program 2010-2011

The Fulbright Scholar Program brings professors from around the world to the U.S. to lecture and/or research on American university campuses for a period of three to ten months.  The program offers participants the opportunity to expand their professional experience, learn more about the U.S., and teach American students and colleagues about their countries.  International and domestic airfare, a monthly stipend, and accident and sickness insurance are provided.  Immediate family members may accompany grant recipients.

Who Can Apply?

Fulbright Scholar grants are available on a competitive basis to Saudi citizens (excluding dual U.S. nationals) living in Saudi Arabia who:

  • Have a doctoral degree and wish to research or lecture on an American university campus during the 2010-2011 academic year
  • Are fluent in English
  • Are interested in promoting greater understanding between Saudis and Americans

A complete application includes:

  • On-line application form
  • Detailed statement of proposed research and/or lecturing
  • Detailed curriculum vitae
  • Three reference letters
  • Letter of invitation from U.S. institution (if applicable)
  • Copy of the passport bio page of the scholar any family members who will accompany the scholar in the U.S.

Documents in Arabic must be accompanied by certified English translations. Applicants must submit the on-line application form and send all supplementary materials to the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh or U.S. Consulate in Jeddah or Dhahran no later than December 15, 2009.
