Appointment System for American Citizens Services
The Embassy is closed during Friday/Saturday weekends and on U.S. and Saudi holidays. Please refer to our holiday schedule for more information.
Important! You must make an appointment online for all routine U.S. citizen services including passport application services, request for Consular Report of Birth Abroad, notarial services, and questions regarding federal benefits. Persons without an appointment will not be admitted for routine services. Note: American citizens with immigrant visa questions should address their inquiries directly to the IV unit (RiyadhIV@state.gov). The American Citizen Services Unit is a separate unit; if you come to ACS with an IV inquiry, you will NOT be seen.
Your appointment is important to us and we strive to provide high-quality, efficient service to the thousands of U.S. citizens in our consular district. Failure to appear for your appointment or making duplicate appointments negatively affects other U.S. citizens in need of consular services. Please cancel your appointment online at least 24 hours before your appointment time if you do not plan to appear. Applicants who do not appear for their appointments or who schedule duplicate appointments, may be barred from making future appointments without direct correspondence with RiyadhACS@state.gov. We reserve the right to cancel duplicate appointments without advance notice.
Those seeking special consular services may schedule an appointment for notorial or other service. Appointments are not required to pick up new passports or issued CRBAs.
Exceptions to the routine consular services appointment requirement will be made on a case-by-case basis for emergency situations only. Emergencies may include, but are not limited to death of an American citizen, arrest of an American citizen, medical or financial emergencies.
Please make a separate appointment for each individual service. To ask for help with Federal Benefits or other special services, please choose the option “Request notarial and other services not listed above” on the appointment page.
Once you make an appointment, please remember to print the Appointment Details page and bring it with you when you appear at the embassy.
Please note that in order to cancel or make changes to your appointment, you must have the “Appointment Password” that appears on the Appointment Details page, which you should print out or record immediately after you make your appointment.
