Medical Student Session Attracts Large Crowd
On March 24, the Educational Advising office at the US Embassy in Riyadh hosted an information session for prospective medical students on study opportunities in the US. Over 100 people attended—some travel travelling from as far away as the Eastern Province and Qasim.
Representatives from the Consular section, along with the Embassy’s own physician also participated in the event. Guest speaker Dr. Omar Shamieh, a physician at the Department of Oncology at King Abdulaziz Medical City and assistant professor of Oncology at King Saud University, took questions from the audience as he discussed his experiences as a medical student in the United States.
