Embassy Meets With Visiting American Teachers

On December 21, the US Embassy in Riyadh met with a group of twenty-five American teachers visiting the Kingdom, courtesy of Saudi Aramco and the Institute of International Education's Educators to Saudi Arabia Program.  During the meeting, the teachers received a briefing from Cultural Affairs Attaché Sam Rothenberg, and Educational Advisor Beth Franklin, and participated in a question and answer period with US officials.

The Educators to Saudi Arabia program seeks to provide a professional development opportunity to US educators with the goal of increasing their knowledge and understanding of Saudi Arabia, its culture, and values.  Additionally, the program seeks to encourage teachers to establish creative means of sharing this understanding with their students, colleagues, and communities.  Participants were selected from across the US to travel to Saudi Arabia for a10-day study-tour focusing on education, science and technology, history, and culture.
